Installing md5sum

To install the HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum bundle on an HP-UX 11i v1 or v2 system, complete the following steps:

1.   Download the MD5Checksum,release_name.depot file to the /tmp directory. The release_name corresponds to the HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum release number and the architecture of the target system. For example, MD5Checksum,r=A.01.01.02,a=HP-UX_B.11.11_32_64 and MD5Checksum,r=A.01.01.02,a=HP-UX_B.11.23_IA_PA are depot file names.

2.   Verify correct download of the file using swlist. Note that swlist and swinstall require you to specify the full path name to the source depot.

# swlist -d @ /tmp/MD5Checksum,release_name.depot

# Initializing...
# Contacting target "localhost"...
# Target: localhost:/tmp/MD5Checksum,release_name.depot
# Bundle(s):

MD5Checksum A.01.01.02 HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum

3.   Run swinstall to install the product:

# swinstall -s /tmp/MD5Checksum,release_name.depot \*

4.   Verify that the MD5Checksum.MD5sum.MD5SUM-RUNfileset has been installed using the following command:

# swlist -l fileset MD5Checksum.MD5sum.MD5SUM-RUN

# Initializing...
# Contacting target "localhost"...
# Target: localhost:/

MD5Checksum.MD5sum.MD5SUM-RUN A.01.01.02 HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum

When you install the HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum bundle, the following components will be included:
