HP-UX Kernel Configuration tool (kcweb, bundle Casey) is a single-system kernel configuration management tool that allows system administrators to perform tuning operations on the HP-UX kernel.

The tool provides a graphical user interface (GUI). The tool also supports text user interface (TUI) and command usage. The GUI and the TUI enable you to preview commands before executing the task.

You can use the Kernel Configuration tool to do the following:

  • Change kernel tunable values
  • Monitor kernel resource usage for a set of supported tunables
  • Set thresholds on kernel tunables over which an alarm will be triggered
  • Manage and configure DLKMs
  • Manage kernel configurations - save current configuration, load an available configuration, and delete configurations
  • Restore kernel configuration values of tunables and modules from the previous boot
