GuestAVIOStor

The Integrity VM v3.5 release introduces new accelerated storage and networking products to improve the overall I/O performance for Integrity VM. The Integrity VM v4.0 release extends the support for AVIO to HP-UX 11i v3 based hosts. These new Accelerated Virtual I/O (AVIO) products provide up to a 60% reduction in service demand and as much as twofold improvement in throughput over the existing fully virtualized storage and networking Integrity VM solutions.

The AVIO Storage technology consists of two components, an Integrity VM Host component (HostAVIOStor) and an Integrity VM Guest component (GuestAVIOStor). A user must install and configure the respective kernel drivers on the VM Host and Guest systems for the complete AVIO Storage functionality.

Customers using HP-UX Virtual Partitions v6.0 or Integrity VM v4.30 and v4.2x release should install the October 2013 AVIO web release (B.11.31.1211.01).

Note:

-          AVIO B.11.31.1211.01 version bundles are not supported on OE later to 1109

-          Do not install AVIO B.11.31.1211.01 version bundles on HP-UX vPars & Integrity VM v6.1 and later versions.

Defect Fixes

QXCR1001302005 : Some of the memory arenas created by HVSD and GVSD had incorrect attributes set.

QXCR1001302009 : Guests with high I/O load may hang during interrupt migrations running in the guest

QXCR1001302011 : Very frequent interrupt migrations in the guest may result in a guest hang

QXCR1001302012 : Incorrect LUN ID printed in following warning message when host does a forced reset:

HPEVM reset this host because a disk write timed out long
after it should have been completed by the host (40 seconds)
and the guest that initiated it has terminated.

Resetting the host is necessary to ensure the disk can now
be accessed by another cluster node without risking data
corruption. This condition should not have occurred.
Please report it to Hewlett-Packard.
