Overview

This toolbox provides quick and easy integration of an application with HPE Serviceguard on HP-UX and/or Linux. This is the same framework used by HPE to create tools contained in the Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit and Serviceguard for Linux toolkits. This toolbox contains a user's guide, a template that may be customized for your application to create a Serviceguard toolkit, and a test tool that may be used to help validate the toolkit in Serviceguard's environment. This version of the toolbox supports only modular packages.

To install the toolbox on HP-UX:

  1. Download the file Z7550-00953.zip to your PC and execute the following command to unpack it.
    unzip Z7550-00953.zip
    • SG-toolbox-template-B.02.00.02.tar - zip file containing the actual template
    • SG-toolbox-template-B.02.00.02.tar.sig - signature file for the above template
    • SG-toolbox-testtool-B.02.00.02.tar - zip file containing a test tool
    • SG-toolbox-testtool-B.02.00.02.tar.sig - signature file for the above test tool
    • gpg-hpPublicKey.pub - public key for code signature verification
    • Readme.txt - explains the zip contents and a procedure for HPE code signature verification
  1. Ensure the "toolkit" directory is a sub-directory of the "cluster" directory, in the appropriate location for your environment as follows. If this directory does not exist, please create it on the target system.
    HP-UX: /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/
  1. Copy the two .tar files to the toolkit directory on the target system.
  2. Log on to the target system as root.
  3. Use the tar command to unpack the template files
tar -xvf SG-toolbox-template.B.02.00.02.tar, creating the following files:
    • setup.sh - Copies tkit_module.sh and toolbox.1 into respective directories and creates a symbolic link named "toolbox" to toolbox.1 in the modules directory.
    • tkit_module.sh - Main toolkit module script which is called by master control script of Serviceguard.
    • toolbox.1 - Attribute Definition File (ADF) which defines the toolbox attributes included in the package configuration file.
  4. Run "./setup.sh" and choose option to install when prompted.
  5. Follow the instructions in the Toolbox User's Guide "Application Integration Using Serviceguard Developer's Toolbox Version B.02.00.02" available at High Availability section of HPE's Technical Documentation website to customize the template for your application.
To install the toolbox on Linux:

    • gpg-hpPublicKey.pub - public key for code signature verification
    • Readme.txt - explains the zip contents and a procedure for HPE code signature verification
  1. Ensure the "toolkit" directory is a sub-directory of the "cluster" directory, in the appropriate location for your environment as follows. If this directory does not exist, please create it on the target system.
    Red Hat EL: /usr/local/cmcluster/toolkit/
    SLES: /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/
  1. Copy the two .tar files to the toolkit directory on the target system.
  2. Log on to the target system as root.
  3. Use the tar command to unpack the template files
tar -xvf SG-toolbox-template.B.12.00.00.tar, creating the following files:
