StoreOnce software update RPM`s provide new features, functional and quality
improvements and defect fixes. In addition, they also contain the recommended
component firmware for the StoreOnce appliance.
It
is recommended that StoreOnce appliances are kept up to date with the latest
software.
StoreOnce 3.16.7 is the latest recommended update.
StoreOnce 3.18.7 contains aditional security features.
For more information about the content of each release, check the release notes
for each update. These can be found on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Information Library website www.hpe.com/info/storeonce/docs and
scrolling down to, or filtering on, the ‘Release Notes’.
Important
This software update is only for the HPE StoreOnce 2700, 2900, 4500, 4700
and 4900 Systems.
The
final stage of the software update reboots the appliance to complete the update
process.
The
complete update process, including component firmware updates, may take up to 3
hours. It is important to ensure that there are no backup or restore
operations scheduled to take place during this period.
OS Conversion Software Upgrade
The 3.13.x to 3.16.3 software
upgrade (P9L02-10563.rpm) provides a major upgrade of the underlying StoreOnce
Operating System. This type of software upgrade is called an OS conversion
upgrade. It differs from a typical StoreOnce software upgrade by using a
separate, unique 3.13.x to 3.16.3 OS
Conversion upgrade RPM file, and by requiring the user to perform an
intermediary step to download and save, securely, an automatically generated
saved_config.tgz file from the StoreOnce System before restarting the software
upgrade process.
Note: For systems running 3.15.x, the 3.13.x to 3.16.3 OS Conversion
software upgrade RPM is not applicable. Please download and use the normal
software upgrade RPM to upgrade from 3.15.x.
Instructions
1. Download the software update RPM and check the MD5 hash against the one
