Overview

SIP is an application layer signaling protocol, developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), that enables the creation, modification, and termination of sessions that are independent of the underlying transport protocols and the session type being established.

The HPE implementation of SIP is available as a web upgrade on the HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems. It delivers the following API stacks:

  • C Stack
  • Java Stack

What is in This Version

This section discusses the features that this version of SIP (B.11.23.01.001/B.11.31.01.001) supports in the HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems.
