What's New in HPE OneView 3.10.10 (update release, July-2018)

This update to HPE OneView 3.10 contains several defect repairs in addition to a required update in order to support the HPE Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Version 2018.06.0. This patch can be applied to any previous HPE OneView 3.10.04 or later release.

 What's New in HPE OneView 4.1 (new release, Jun-2018)

HPE OneView 4.1 is a major release that includes many enhancements:      :     

  • Automatic firmware updates on your ESX clusters with new orchestrated rolling cluster updates for c-Class Blade Systems with HPE Virtual Connect
  • Up to 50% faster firmware update times with new secure iLO repository offline updates
  • Faster resolution time with HPE OneView Remote Technician, a new capability that allows you to securely and remotely troubleshoot live with an HPE service technician
  • Intelligent infrastructure management by deploying, updating and automating clusters with cluster profiles
  • Increased security in the data center with FIPS 140-2 validation for cryptographic modules and Commercial National Security Algorithms (CNSA) mode support for HPE Gen10 ProLiant servers
  • 3PAR large volume and compression support. Ability to manage compression state of 3PAR volumes over volume lifetime and support for 3PAR volumes up to a size of 64TiB
  • Support for SP/SPT driven SAN storage management using Brocade fibre channel interconnect modules 8 and 16Gb. Data volume support only (no boot-from-SAN configuration when using these ICMs) for Gen 9 and above servers only
  • Email notification for support case open/close. Ability to configure emails to be sent to your remote support contacts on creation and support case closure
  • Remote support added for HPE Virtual Connect FlexFabric-20/40 F8 Module for c-Class Blade System and HPE Virtual Connect 16Gb 24-port Fibre Channel  Module for c-Class Blade System

Any HPE OneView 3.10.04 or later can update to 4.1.

What's New in HPE OneView 4.00.07.02 (update release, Mar-2018)

This update to HPE OneView 4.00.07 contains one critical defect repair in order to support Gen10 servers running iLO5 version 1.20. This patch is required if running HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers with iLO5 v1.20.

Note: If you are running versions prior to 4.00, you must upgrade to a minimum of 4.00.05 prior to installing this patch. Upgrades from 4.00.05 and above to 4.00.07.02 are fully supported.

What's New in HPE OneView 4.00.07 (new release, Jan-2018)

HPE OneView 4.00.07 is a major release that includes many enhancements:     

  • Automated discovery of HPE ProLiant DL, XL and ML servers automates the addition of multiple servers
  • SNMPv3 support enhances security of monitoring server hardware and interconnects
  • Scope Based Access Control support extends today's role based access control by restricting a role (e.g. Server, Storage, or Network Admin) to operate only on a subset of resources managed by the appliance
  • Two Factor Authentication provides the ability to authenticate using smartcards in the initial implementation
  • Certificate management improves the policies and procedures for managing certificate-based trust. For example, ability to manage the OneView certificate trust store, support for certificate revocation (CRLs), management of self-signed certificates, etc.
  • Boot from SAN configuration load balancing

What's New in HPE OneView 3.10 (new release, July-2017)

HPE OneView 3.10 is a major release that includes many enhancements:     

  • Server Host Name provides the ability to surface up the server host name of a server from iLO when AMS is loaded on the server
  • External SPP Repository provides the ability to create an external repository with web server, add multiple SPPs and serve multiple management appliances
  • Scheduled FW deploy/reboot enables scheduling the date and time of firmware update from profile when using HP Software Update Utility
  • KVM management appliance support in addition to existing support for Microsoft HyperV & VMware ESX
  • Extended server support includes full management support for Apollo 2000, 4000, 6000 and ML 350 Gen 9 servers
  • StoreVirtual managed volumes support provides the ability to support StoreVirtual Storage Systems and configure provision full/thin volumes from its storage pool
  • Contract & warranty display enables the view for each device the type of support coverage (contract, warranty), SLA, and expiration date
  • Remote support enablement by device to turn remote support on/off at the device level rather than the appliance level

What's New in HPE OneView 3.00.07 (update release, March-2017)

This update to HPE OneView 3.0 contains several defect repairs. This patch can be applied to any previous HPE OneView 1.20.01 or later release.

Also, HPE Synergy Image Streamer 3.00.05 requires HPE OneView 3.00.07 or later.  For HPE Synergy Image Streamer installations, the Synergy FW configuration must be compliant with the Release Set for Image Streamer as noted on the HPE Synergy FW downloads page:

What's New in HPE OneView 2.00.08 (update release, December-2016)

This update to HPE OneView 2.00 contains several defect repairs and security fixes:

·       The following security vulnerabilities have been addressed:

o   CVE-202016-5387, CVE-2016-0799, CVE-2016-2105, CVE-2016-2106 and CVE-2016-2842

·         OneView-generated digital certificates now default to using SHA-256 digital signatures. Appliance's using older SHA-1 certificates will no longer be supported by the latest versions of web browsers and other software products that communicate with HPE OneView starting in January 2017

 You can upgrade directly to version 2.00.08 of HPE OneView from any 1.10 or later version.

What's New in HPE OneView 3.0 (new release, October-2016)

HPE OneView 3.0 is a major release that provides many enhancements including:     

  • DL RAID support for embedded controllers
  • Monitoring mode for Apollo 2000, 4000, and 6000
  • Automated cluster deployment via the RESTful API for HPE CloudSystem 10 and Cloud Services Automation (CSA)
  • Scopes support enables logically grouped resources such as Finance, sales, and ERP
  • Automated backup scheduling: daily, weekly, on demand
  • Integrated remote support for c7000, Gen8+ BLs and DLs to receive 24x7monitoring, pre-failure alerts, automatic call logging, and automatic parts dispatch
  • Support for the HPE Virtual Connect 16Gb 24-port Fibre Channel Module to accelerate migration to HPE OneView
  • In-service Virtual Connect to HPE OneView migration
  • Monitoring and basic management with connection provisioning for Cisco Nexus/FEX environments
  • Increased scale for SAN storage and automated SAN zoning enhancements
  • Microsoft System Center integration adds support for HPE OneView 3.0, as well as firmware and driver support from SPP 2016.10.0
  • VMware vCenter integration now delivered as a Virtual Appliance, simplifying initial setup

Any HPE OneView 1.2x or later can update to 3.0.

What's New in HPE OneView 1.20.09 (update release, October-2016)

You can upgrade from any 1.1x or 1.2x release of HPE OneView directly to version 1.20.09 of HPE OneView.

·         The following security vulnerabilities have been addressed:

o   CVE-2015-7547, CVE-2016-5387, CVE-2016-0799, CVE-2016- 2105, CVE-2016-2106, and CVE-2016-2842.

·         HPE OneView-generated digital certificates now default to using SHA-256 digital signatures. Appliance's using older SHA-1 certificates will no longer be supported by the latest versions of web browsers and other software products that communicate with HPE OneView starting in January 2017. Existing SHA-1 certificates will not be automatically regenerated/updated to SHA-256.

You can upgrade from any 1.1x or 1.2x release of HPE OneView directly to version 1.20.09 of HPE OneView.

What's New in HPE OneView 2.00.07 (update release, June-2016)

This update to HPE OneView 2.00 contains several defect repairs and security fixes.  It also provides new functionality enhancements including

·         Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) integration. LLDP packets which originate from Virtual Connect module downlink ports may now be forwarded to a vSwitch for processing.When  the feature ("LLDP tagging") is enabled on a logical interconnect, both tagged and untagged LLDP frames will be transmitted to the downlinks with a destination nearest to the bridge (01-80-C2-000-00-0E) MAC address. In addition, HPE OneView manages a common IP address for all Virtual Connect modules within the logical interconnect.

·         Added several SAN zoning enhancements.

You can upgrade directly to version 2.00.07 of HPE OneView from any 1.10 or later version.

What's New in HPE OneView 2.0 (new release, October-2015)

HPE OneView 2.0 is a major release that provides many enhancements including:     

  • Easily enforce configuration consistency using server profile templates to monitor, flag, and update multiple servers
  • Quickly view server profile information with access to additional details from Storage and Networking - using the Profile Dashboard
  • Automates system software updates at scale using template-driven firmware and device driver management
  • Flexibly migrate and recover workloads using profile mobility across compute platforms and generations
  • Enable a hypervisor-like user experience using storage volume snapshots
  • Monitor health of SAN connections with administrator alerts to data path failures and reports on unauthorized access
  • Consolidate management, number of adapters, and interconnects, and reduce cables and utilization of upstream switch ports using Virtual Connect Dual Hop FCoE support with 10/40 Gb
  • Prioritize designated networking traffic flows and guarantee performance levels by using Virtual Connect Quality of Service (QoS) Priority Queuing
  • Monitor Cisco Nexus 5xxx/6xxx top-of-rack switches with B22HP FEX support from HPE OneView (with Resources, Alerts, Statistics, Monitoring, Topology, and Physical connectivity views)
  • Localization for Japanese and Simplified Chinese users
  • Any HPE OneView 1.10.x or later can update to 2.0
  • Some of the versions of the HPE OneView plug-ins will not work with HPE OneView 2.0.  If you are using a plug-in with HPE OneView, it is recommended that you wait for the supported version to be available before upgrading HPE OneView and proceed  at the same time with an upgrade of the plug-in to avoid losing integration functionalities
